Mike Daubenberger, Senior Structural Engineer, SE, Owner, President

Michael Daubenberger founded MD Structural Engineering, Inc. in 2012.  He began his career in structural engineering in 2004.  Michael’s work includes the design of seismic and wind force resisting systems for new buildings and for retrofit of existing buildings, gravity load resisting system design, retaining wall systems, and cladding systems.  His diverse project history has allowed him to work with a wide variety of structural materials including: wood/timber, masonry, concrete, steel, aluminum, fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP), and MSE Wall materials.  In his personal life, Mike has a passion for biking, spending time with his family, fishing, cooking, sailing and traveling.  He spent a year sailing through the Bahamas in 2011-12.


Britt Killian, Senior Structural Engineer, SE, Partner, Vice President

Britt Killian is a licensed Structural engineer in Oregon and Washington.  Prior to starting his career in engineering, Britt was co-owner of a small residential construction company which has allowed him to draw on past experiences to overcome design challenges on each new project. For the past 10 years his work has been focused solely in the s field of structural engineering.  Over the course of his career, he has been involved in the design of a variety of projects ranging from retaining wall systems to light industrial to complex residential.  His projects have allowed him to become proficient in structural design using, concrete, steel, wood/timber, SCIP (structural concrete insulated panels) and masonry. 


Leah Weis, ET

Leah began working at MD Structural, Inc. in 2018. Leah received her Bachelor Degree from Western Michigan University. The projects she has worked on have allowed her to become more proficient in structural design of residential and commercial buildings, improvements on existing building, signs, and storefront and curtainwall systems. Her design experience includes working with; wood, steel, concrete, and aluminum. Prior to joining at MD Structural she worked with, the City of Grand Rapids with the Asset Management team, where she designed structural improvements on existing building. As of December 2018, Leah has received a Masters in Engineering from Portland State University. In her spare time Leah spends her time outdoors hiking where she can practice her photography.


Steven Sundborg, Draftsman

Steven earned his certification in drafting at Yakima Valley Community College.  He started his career at MD Structural Engineering, Inc. in 2015 with a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.  He has brought an eye for detail in his drafting projects.  In his spare time, Steven enjoys family, friends, reading, fishing, sports and Netflix.


Noot Killian, Office Administrator

Noot Killian is a dedicated Office Administrator with five years of experience in optimizing office operations and enhancing workplace efficiency. Known for her strong organizational skills and attention to detail, she plays a crucial role in supporting the office’s day-to-day functions. With a background in customer service, Noot excels at managing schedules, coordinating communications, and implementing streamlined processes that improve productivity. Passionate about delivering exceptional service, she ensures internal teams and external clients receive timely, effective support. Her responsiveness and adaptability enable her to handle diverse administrative tasks while fostering a positive work environment. Outside of work, Noot enjoys cooking, creating art, camping, and spending time with family and friends—activities that bring a creative perspective to her professional responsibilities.


Dana Cross, Project Engineer, P.E.

Dana Cross, is a licensed Professional Engineer in Washington and California and has been with MD Structural Engineering since 2021. She earned a BS from Portland State University in 2004 and designs structures for commercial and complex residential projects, retaining walls, remodels, art installations, and storefront/curtainwall systems using wood, steel, concrete, and aluminum. Prior to MD Structural, Dana was a structural engineer at KPFF, contributing to numerous steel and concrete university buildings, and she ran her own firm focused on wood-framed homes. Raised on an Alaskan island where she grew up commercial fishing and exploring the outdoors, Dana enjoys solving challenges on high-end custom homes and now lives in White Salmon, WA, spending her free time whitewater kayaking both around the U.S. and internationally. She values the collaborative, supportive team at MD Structural Engineering.
